Picturesque Puliyanmala

Holidays season meant some time away from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore. This time the destination was Puliyanmala, one of the virgin villages in Idukki, Kerala, nestled in the tranquility of nature with high mountains and dense forest.

Approximately 500 kms from Bangalore by road via Krishnagiri – Salem – Namakkal – Karur – Dindigal – Periyakulam – Theni – Chinnamanar – Uthampalayam – Cumbum – Kumily – Puliyanmala. With all lunch and tea breaks it was 8 hours drive from Bangalore. The road till Dindigal is broad and well maintained but after that, the drive is not so promising: narrow and bumpy road slows down the speed.
